Ghost 04:57
---Ghost--- I am the ghost in the garden I’m not on the guestlist I was born in the wrong border And, boy, I’m paying for it I am the bride in the branches I’m wild in the grasses I sleep step by step To the sound of windows slamming I am the kid at the picnic: the pixels in your rockpool That didn’t make it to print. So, read my lips I am the bull in the ballroom You cannot ignore this I will charge down every hallway, Send all your chandeliers shattering // Well, we got this wrong ten thousand times We watched ten thousand flares Fall fathoms down //
2.
---Winter Hunter--- Between the sun and shadow, you wait Bringing up the arrow to the eye You’re a hunter hiding like a lion in the grass You are winter waiting at the back Between the deep and shallow, you stay Circling the bodies and the bones // You are my winter hunter // Between the frost and fire, you stay Lining up the crosshair with the heart You are winter waiting with the shadows at the back You’re a hunter hiding in the grass

Vandals 02:56
---Vandals--- We were born with rights to raid, to wreck and take We are masters of our trade; the getaway Pull down the moon - why wouldn’t you? Cos they made it just for you Go kick the stars - don’t stop at half Be a vandal, make your mark For the scandal, jape and lark Be a vandal, make your mark // Go get your fill, go guzzling, go get your fill! We all want it all // You were born a bullish brute, well lucky you! Always smash before you grab and don’t look back Go get your fill, go guzzling Fill your pockets, fill your boots Come crashing through Pull down the moon – why wouldn’t you? Be a vandal, make your mark For the scandal, jape and lark Be a vandal, make your mark
4.
Massa 03:23
---Massa--- Well I got it wrong I jumped the guns I stepped out on something It wasn’t strong enough And I waited for the waves turning wilder than before And I dreamt I was a child drifting blindly from the shore // Will you stay with me while I fail completely? // I got it all wrong you know I faced the sun And I told it plainly it hadn’t shone enough And I waited for the flames burning fury from the core I dreamt I was a child sleeping soundly through it all // Will you stay with me while I fail completely? While I fail… because I need you now //
5.
---A Muscle Marked--- // How you hold my heart It’s a muscle marked // How you hold my heart A muscle marked, a moving part How you test my tongue You take me on Take me apart Bring me brightly back A bag of nerves as hot as wire How you hold my heart A piston starts a signal fire only for you // How you hold my heart It’s a muscle marked // How you sketch my skin My limber limbs leaning in How you make my mouth Shout it out and breathe it in Bring me brightly back A cell of cells that spit and spark How you hold my heart A moving part, a muscle marked only for you Now you’ve built my bones you can’t leave me alone You hold my heart, spit and spark Now you’ve built my brains it’s like ‘never again!’ You hold my heart, breathe it in // How you hold my heart It’s a muscle marked //

Bar Fight 04:50
---Bar Fight--- Cold on coastal skin I’m out on a limb, here Bold and soaking in You’re covered in codes I can’t read Come on come on come on Run on and on and on You know I told you I miss you twice Come on come on come on Run on and on an on You said ‘I know, let’s not twist the knife’ // Tonight, let’s have a bar fight! Split our lips and knuckles open wide Let’s have a bar fight! Bring me the best you’ve got Hold nothing back inside // Gold and racing green Your sycamore eyes still shine I’ll show you what I mean Remember the curve of our spines Come on come on come on Run on and on and on Just don’t look so serious, now Come on come on come on Run on and on and on and on You’re making me nervous
7.
Young Blood 04:03
---Young Blood--- Be good, young blood Your father would You say you’ll try, you dare not lie Shore up, be strong Your mother tongue makes a blur of words You’d better learn // Part of me waits // They see like saints It’s funny how they know You’re no born bully But they won’t let you go So show them you’ll shoulder it, you’re up to it If you say you’re sure You’d better know // Part of me waits // You say you’ll try You’d better win You say you’re sure You’d better know Young blood, don’t let us down Young blood, you won’t let us down // Part of me waits //

Twin Sinner 03:08
---Twin Sinner--- Cold summer At the end of every calm river we lie Hot fever While I know I’m just a cut flower in their eyes Cold summer At the end of every calm river where we lie Don’t be long You are my blood brother You’re the muscle in my mind’s eye run riot Don’t be long You are the only one Cold summer At the end of every calm river we lie Hot fever While I know I’m just a cut flower in their eyes Cold summer At the end of every calm river where we lie Don’t be long You are my twin sinner, cold summer, hot fever, calm river // In our ritual fixed in orbitual grip And we won’t let this slip from our priestess’ lips // You are my cold summer, twin sinner, hot fever, calm river

Go Golden 03:15
---Go Golden--- Be here, be there, be laid bare A landline A lifeline To exactly where we came from We use our mother tongue To reach back down the umbilical cord To call, fall, crawl into an empty belly Separate, don’t obliterate We belong to both We belong to both here and there Recollect Reconnect To exactly where our bodies began Play our favourite song Hear the beat bounce back from the street Where we take our turn, learn, pay as we earn Correlate, don’t eradicate We belong to both // We’ll run dry, we’ll run dry, we’ll run dry // Be here, be there, be one Separate, don’t obliterate We belong // We were born bolder than this or than this Can we go golden to gather, to give? // Be here, be there, be laid bare Get told Take hold Of exactly where we lost track We bring those echoes back To throats that call over sea walls For borderless orderless coordinates Navigate, don’t dissipate We belong to both // We’ll run dry, we’ll run dry, we’ll run dry // Be here, be there, beyond Separate, don’t obliterate We belong // We were born bolder than this or than this Can we go golden to gather, to give? //

about

Includes liner notes with artwork and all lyrics. This album was recorded and mixed by us in various ways and situations in Manchester, Rio de Janeiro, and Rotterdam. The writing has been shaped by the concept of liminality; the uncertain moment of pause during rituals of transition, after one state of affairs but just before the shift to another. It turns out that’s precisely what we’re in at the time of writing this note, as we isolate and lock down and wait to see what new forms will emerge – politically, culturally – on the other side. We were inspired by the ethos of DIY creativity and sharing that has arisen during this time to release this album rather quickly and without the usual promotional strategies. If it provides a moment of interest, fun, or escape in somebody’s lockdown then we are happy.

The album also has a companion video for each song. Find out more:
